Is Getting An MBA

Worth Your Time?

An Interview With

Josh Kaufman

Business Coach and Author

This week’s guest is Josh Kaufman, the best-selling business author of “The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business”, now in its 10th-anniversary edition. In his book and throughout this episode, Josh asserts that getting an MBA – regardless of the state of the economy – is too expensive a choice to fully justify. What should you do instead?  Read good business books, study the lessons, and focus on gaining real-world experience.

Overview:

Using research to back his claims, Josh discusses with Jon, the value of business school and the credentials earned, how financing this type of education affects your life in the long run and what evidence there is supporting the idea that MBA students are more successful. Josh has some useful advice for anyone who would benefit from learning more about business and that’s pretty much everyone, regardless of your educational background.

The goal: “take an alien who comes to earth and they’re trying to learn about business, they know absolutely nothing. Let’s encapsulate the core of what it is that we’re doing here.”
